Southern California Teacher and IHSS Provider Mel Brencius

Mel Brencius is an elementary school teacher and home care provider based in La Habra, California. He began his teaching career in 1998 with the Buena Park School District, which he still serves. During his time as an educator, he has taught students in grades four through six, with responsibilities ranging from lesson planning to discussing student performance with parents, supervisors, and other teachers. In 2021 Mel Brencius expanded his professional activities by joining California’s In-Home Support Services (IHSS) as a home care professional, a role that involves preparing meals, helping with personal hygiene activities, managing and administrating medication, and shopping and other errands.

As an undergraduate, Mr. Brencius studied liberal arts at Mount San Antonio College and communications at California State University, Fullerton, earning an Associate of Arts and Bachelor of Arts, respectively. He continued his education at California State University, Long Beach, earning a Master of Arts in Education Administration in 2003. In addition to his degrees, Mr. Brencius holds a teaching credential from Concordia University.
